North Somerset Environment Event Services Launch

The weekend of 11-13 October marked an important milestone for North Somerset Environment. At this year’s ROKiT Weston Beach Race, NSEC officially launched our new Event Services division along with our new promotional merchandise made from recycled materials.

Also at the event, the Highways team oversaw traffic management. Phillip Garness and our partners at Quantum Traffic Management planned and executed all the road signage on approach roads for the weekend, ensuring safe and steady traffic management during the event for the thousands in attendance.

The Event Services division kicked off with a vigorous and detailed plan created by our management team of Stuart Jellings, Shane Young, and Lee Hodge to enable a smooth-running event to take place. The cleansing team led by Bruce Grime ensured that the site remained in pristine condition by maintaining the bins and keeping it clear of litter through the course of the week. Bruce and his team consisting of Anna Schauker, Max Trueman Jones, Daniel Fox, Nathan Bidwell, Mark Worne & Flo Furis delivered an exceptional service going above and beyond. Throughout the weekend the management team were across the site supervising our activities as the crowds arrived, some of whom stopped to chat with the team comprising of Jacob Stallard, Becky Palmer, Erika Plumridge, Eleni Krassos, Tawnie Wilkinson, Caroline Carreyett, Nathan Bidwell & Daryl Newman who were based at our promotional stand beside the main entrance.

Next to the promotional stand, our newly liveried lorry (with thanks to Foremost Signs), displaying different North Somerset landscapes whilst undertaking its collection round across the site, making all bins ready for the day.

North Somerset Environment would like to congratulate everybody who took part in the many races across the weekend, especially to our very own Hayden Carter who took part in the Sunday race before rolling into work on the collections rounds around North Somerset on Monday.

Overall, it was an incredible weekend for North Somerset Environment, and everyone is delighted with the outcome of the Event Services division. A big thank you to RHL Activities for the excellent work they completed throughout the weekend, hopefully the start of a great parentship between the two organisations. Finally, a massive thank you to all the NSEC staff who helped for this event, your efforts this week were greatly appreciated.
