NSEC Attendance at Highways UK Exhibition

As we further look at innovations, efficiencies and network building for our Highways Operation, October sees a select delegation from North Somerset Environment attending the 2024 Highways UK Exhibition for a day in Birmingham.

Highways UK brings together the people responsible for planning, developing, managing, maintaining, and future-proofing the nation's road networks. It sees more than 375+ exhibitors showcasing new ways of thinking and novel partnerships to generate solutions. It is expected to host over 10,000 attendees over the two days.

Over at our Sandford depot, our Highways Contract Manager, Phillip Garness and his Highways team have set an incredibly high standard with the work they have been delivering since the mobilisation was complete in April. Working alongside North Somerset Council, our Highways Operational team working on the Reactive & Cyclical Maintenance contract address matters on our North Somerset highways such as pothole repairs, traffic management and the provision of gully cleansing services.

As featured via our social media recently, they are also progressing through their pre-winter season gritting preparations at present also.

Phillip Garness will be joined in attendance at this year’s event by Interim Managing Director, Stuart Jellings, and Contract Manager for Waste & Recycling, Kerry Ellis, all of whom are looking forward to seeing innovations from around our Highways sector and meeting industry colleagues throughout the event to further build our network of knowledge sharing and best practise for our contract.
